FORREZ celebrates 60 years of innovation and dedication

Growth and expansion

In November 1964, FORREZ started from a small garage. The garage quickly turned into a workshop and then into a fully-fledged business premises. FORREZ soon made a name for itself in the region through high service levels, but also through the flexibility and personal approach with which each assignment was handled. To this day, this customer focus and top service remain essential pillars of our business strategy.

 

The subsequent decades brought new challenges and opportunities. In 1994, Geert Mertens—husband of Christine Forrez—became a driving force in the company and steadily grew the business over the next 30 years. Acquisitions in Flanders and Wallonia followed one after another, FORREZ expanded its services, and entered international markets. The diversification of products and services meant that the customer base grew rapidly. Our wholesale business burst at the seams, tire retreading became further automated, and the construction of agricultural rims evolved into one of the most progressive in our industry.
